Sales Hiring Remains +3.6% Above Pre-Pandemic Levels

Objective Management Group’s sales candidate assessments give OMG a unique real-time view into sales hiring trends. Given recent scrutiny of the labor market, we want to understand if companies are continuing to hire salespeople.
Our analysis of several hundred clients in industries ranging from furniture makers to financial services, found that Yes, companies are still hiring salespeople despite concerns of an economic slowdown. The number of open sales positions in the past 12 months was +3.6% higher than in the same period in 2019 (pre-pandemic).
However, sales hiring has cooled some since last year, when the number of open positions was +7.8% higher than in 2019.
